Chapter 10: Secure Software

This chapter is about: Piracy, bugs, and other "soft" threats

...the chapter talks about the fact that PCs and LANs bring many benefits, but they also bring many risks. The chapter looks at some of the less obvious risks, starting with software piracy, the illegal copying of programs. In fact, the widespread use of personal computers and digital media creates several other "risks" in the areas of privacy, intellectual property, and legal liability. We conclude the chapter with a look at software and hardware bugs that can threaten the integrity and availability of data.
